Rescue Me ID: 17-11-10-00383Hunk Hogan (male)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Hunk Hogan is a 3yo, male, Staffordshire terrier and 70lbs. This guy was recently pulled from a city shelter after being in and out of there for the past 2 years. He was initailly adopted and returned because he's not good with cats. Then he was adopted to a homeless man who lived on the Venice Boardwalk and didn't leash him. He went after a police horse...not the dog's fault but just irresponsible ownership and unstable environment. The city shelter needs to change their lenient adoption policies for the safety of the animals and the humans. He's good on leash, totally treat motivated, sits, knows down too. He's as strong as an ox so ... (Read More)he needs an experienced handler that pays full attention. He's very loving and active but not hyper. Best in a home without young children because he is a goofy kid himself and doesn't know his own strength. So far we have not had Hunk Hogan interact with other dogs.     Roxy 4yo 55-60lbs House trained Good with other dogs with proper intro LOVES kids and giving kisses! No cats This girl has a lot to smile about! She's safe! She was abandoned just after giving birth. Scared, confused, full of milk, no puppies, under weight, skin infection, and had eaten rocks, etc... Who ever had her did not take care of her and only wanted her for breeding. So disgusting! The vet removed rocks from her stomach and mammary tumors (common from being breed and not spayed). Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Super special girl! The best way to describe Sheba is 'tenderoni'. She is a sweet, sweet, sweet German Shepard mix. One vet said she was 4 years old, another said she was 8. So we estimate she is 6 -8 years old and 45 lbs. She is calm, quiet and loves to show her love. She offers her paw for you to hold and leans in when she sits next to you. She loves greeting other dogs and whimpers is they are not close enough to say hi. She doesn't seem interested in engaging with them, but loves to say hello. She is best with dogs her size or larger.     Oggy Doggy Approx. 8 years old Around 120 pounds Extremely loving, just wants to sunbathe and get belly rubs. Good with other dogs He came into the East Valley Shelter as a stray and became a volunteer favorite. He is absolutely stunning. He's a bit under weight, we are working on bulking him up. He's a puller on the leash but it's more out of excitement to go to the grass to roll around. He seems very appreciative but at the same time sad. I wish he could tell us his story.     Murphy is a 7.5 year old puggle, 46 pounds. He's extremely easy going with other dogs and gentle and loving with children. He walks great on leash. On Aug 16th, we took on 2 senior puggles, Clancy & Murphy. Our vet got a call from someone that wanted to schedule them to be euthanized because of behavioral issues.     Allie B had a miserable life before being pulled from a local city shelter. Her body shows some major scars, evidence she was bred, she has a bullet lodged in her shoulder and she suffered trauma to her head which caused some vision damage. She is so sweet with her foster. Her immediate go to position is to roll on her back for a belly scratch. She loves easy walks. She's best as the only pet in the home.     Introducing EDDIE %BD%BD%BD%8D%BD%BD%BD%BD His back story brought us to tears. He was on the streets for 2 years after his human died and he was kicked out on the street along with the other dog and a cat. He was untouchable/on the run & hiding for that 2 years! It took our friends at Hope For Paws 4 months to finally catch him. He's estimated to be 7yo, about 30 pounds, good with dogs and cats. We suspect he is good with kids. He's still a bit confused, sad and reserved. He's being crated, seems to make him feel more secure. He prefers to eat in his crate at this time. Taking it slow and helping him ease into his foster ... (Read More)home. His eyes are so sad. I can't wait to see them shine. He is looking for his forever family who will show him love and patience. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Clancy is an 8 year old puggle, 44 pounds, great with dogs & cats. He's a mellow dude, just wants to hang out. Professional lounger. Walks well on leash. Not a big barker (as claimed by the woman that surrendered him). On Aug 16th, we took on 2 senior Puggles, Clancy & Murphy. Our vet got a call from someone that wanted to schedule them to be euthanized because of behavioral issues. Guess what their crime was...running out the door and barking at the gardener. Then it was revealed that they were her aunt's dogs and she inherited them when she died. The woman wouldn't donate and couldn't wait to walk away. We are glad to help these ...     Antonio is a tiny little gentleman who loves dudes and enjoys being cradled while watching television. He's about 3-4 years old, 6 pounds, Don't let his size fool you. He's a retriever stuck in a chihuahua suit. Antonio lives for playing fetch. This little dude has wobbly back legs but he's not in any pain and to do the corrective surgery would mean he would be in casts and no fetch for several months. We don't have the heart to put him through that. Anotnion is crate trained, great with other animals, very sweet, and gives kisses. He's tiny and portable and ready for his forever home.     I'm in love with this little dog! She was found with Bernie & Mr. Wicketts. The trio found each other on the harsh streets of Delano and they stuck together to survive. She's had a hard life, a few litters and probably never had a real home. Ugh, the stories these dogs could tell... But all that is behind her now. We're getting her to our vet tomorrow, scheduling her spay and we're going to fix that cherry eye. She will never have another litter, never go hungry and only know kindness.
